TECHNOFI’s role in this project is to provide experience and assistance in:

  • Setting up awareness actions towards public research laboratories
  • identifying business ideas that can potentially successfully be commercialised
  • identifying business ideas with meaningful wealth creation potential
  • benchmarking business ideas against ideas being developed elsewhere in the world
  • identifying proprietary intellectual property in business ideas
  • counselling the consortium on managerial barriers
  • compiling the lessons learnt form the whole ProRETT project

TECHNOFI is a company dedicated, since its incorporation date (1985), to change management in private and public organisations. Its experience covers single company projects up to large, multi organisation European Projects, supported under the EUREKA or the EC Framework Programmes. The added value brought by TECHNOFI’ s experts, with the help of its proprietary Symple® tool, covers the following support actions:

  • Introducing initiative raising processes
  • Giving management autonomy to multidisciplinary teams through “learning by doing” approaches
  • Helping large project groups to converge on collective goals
  • Implementing innovative process improvement techniques in manufacturing and service industries
  • Reaching stable result production from breakthrough change projects

The Symple® tool was used with good success in several EC contracts ( DG Research, DG Enterprise and DG Regio) devoted to SME support actions where SMEs are key technology transfer agents

  • LOSTESC: helping aerospace SMEs to transfer technology to other sectors of activity
  • VACPROT: helping microelectronic equipment manufacturers to transfer technology to other sectors of activity
  • PRIMATS: supporting innovation management in 800 SMEs in Europe

TECHNOFI has also been the coordinator of two EC-funded accompanying measures where SME productivity was at stake:

  • EU-AS(SMI)2: an accompanying measure dealing with 6-sigma techniques and their impacts on productivity growth of European SMEs
  • EUP(EFF)3ITS: an accompanying measure to help European SMEs increase their productivity growth through quality oriented tools

TECHNOFI has designed several Management support schemes for CRAFT type projects (EOLES, ATASDAS, DEMARITS, UPSSIM, DRIVE SAFE, NAGINELS) where technology transfer was a key issue.

TECHNOFI, ICON, CAPITALIA and ZABALA have been involved in the accompanying measure EUROMAPLIVE, where most of the conclusions regarding technology transfer issues in SMEs will be implemented in the ProRETT project.

TECHNOFI obtained the French OPQCM quality accreditation in 2002 and is preparing the ISO certification for the end of 2005.

In the energy field, TECHNOFI is work package leader of the Training (WP6) and Dissemination activities (WP7) of the Integrated Project EU-DEEP, funded since January 1-st 2004 by the EC DG Research ( 15 Million Euros) and 39 partners led by 8 European utilities (14 Million Euros). EU-DEEP deals with the integration of Distributed Energy Resources in the Electric Grid, building fast track options that address 3 business segments (commercial, residential, industrial).

The key persons from TECHNOFI who will be involved in the ProRETT project are all involved in the EU-DEEP project.
